In Bilin, West Bank, the local residents of a Palestinian village have taken to something that is painfully beautiful: collecting spent Israeli tear gas grenades and using them to plant flowers.
Village organizer Mohammed Khatib said that the garden, which now contains hundreds of gas-grenade-turned-flower-pots, is meant to show that “life can spring from death”.
